Dear Colleagues,
We hope that you, your family, colleagues and friends are safe during these challenging times.
It is with great regret that, after careful deliberation and considering all information currently available to us, the President and the Board of the Italian Skull Base Society (Società Italiana Basicranio - SIB) have to announce the cancellation of the upcoming congress scheduled for October 29-30, 2020. Since public health safety measures in relation to COVID-19 are now extended worldwide, we feel that a face-to-face meeting in October is not possible. This decision has been made to protect the health and well-being of our delegates, partners, faculty and staff. It is also based on current WHO advice and government information regarding travels and social distancing.
The new dates for the National Congress of the Italian Skull Base Society will be 11-12 November 2021. The program framework and the invited faculty will be maintained and only updated, if necessary.
The new abstract deadline has been postponed to June 30, 2021. Abstracts already submitted will be automatically considered for the rescheduled Congress in 2021. The Congress website will be updated in the coming days to reflect these changes.
We are keen to ensure that the exchange of knowledge, expertise, and collaboration opportunities between the members of the Society may continue despite the current challenges. For this reason, we have organized a monthly online appointment on “Thursday night” where an expert lecturer for each webinar will focus on a specific topic. Click here to download the brochure with the first eight meeting scheduled from September 2020 to March 2021.
We are thankful for your trust and support and we are looking forward to meeting you again in the future.
Best regards,
Paolo Castelnuovo
President of the Italian Skull Base Society (SIB)
