Scientific Rationale
The 19th National Congress of the SIB takes up the challenge of the previous edition. Having reached the age of maturity as a Society, we aim to take a more mature look at the present, while imagining and designing modern skull base treatments that reflect both technological advances and the cultural and social evolution of our patients.
We seek to promote a new and modern ability to listen to our patients’ needs, offering increasingly personalized care. We aim to foster a culture of teamwork and evidence-based medicine, as an evolution of the historical principles of skull base surgery.
We wish to demonstrate that, by applying a rigorous scientific approach and being part of a community that provides a network for education, training, and professional exchange, it is possible to embrace the challenges of this fascinating discipline.
The challenges of the future are summarized in the “main topics” around which the scientific programme of the event has been structured. These topics will be addressed critically and from a multidisciplinary perspective, with the aim of encouraging discussion and dialogue among all specialists involved in the management of skull base disorders. | |
